La Jolla · Est. 2017
A coastal medical aesthetics studio where evidence-based treatment meets a slower pace. Board-certified providers. Custom protocols. Visible, natural results.
A note from our founder
Marea was built around a quieter idea of aesthetic medicine — one that listens before it treats, one that favors small adjustments over dramatic intervention, and one that leaves the patient looking unmistakably like themselves on a very good day.
Every protocol is designed by a board-certified provider and refined treatment by treatment. No quotas. No upselling. Just considered, longitudinal care.

The Practice
Every patient is treated by a board-certified physician or injector-trained nurse practitioner. We don't rotate. Continuity matters.
Stanford-trained internist and aesthetic medicine specialist. Mentor faculty for Allergan Medical Institute since 2019.
Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner with 11 years of injectables experience. Galderma Premier & Allergan Diamond.
Licensed laser technician and corneotherapist. Lead clinician for our chemical peel, microneedling and resurfacing protocols.
Results, Documented
We photograph every patient under standardized lighting at each visit. The slider on the right is a single patient, three months after a conservative mid-face filler protocol with Restylane Lyft and Refyne.
No filters. No retouching. Sunlit, side-lit, and one resting expression.

In Their Words
I've been to four medspas in San Diego and Marea is the only one that talked me out of a treatment. That's how I knew I'd found my person. Six months in, my skin has never looked more like itself.
Sophie has a draftsman's eye. The filler she placed in my cheeks was so subtle that my sister, who I see every weekend, did not notice for three weeks. Then she asked what changed about my sleep.
The HydraFacial here is genuinely the best I've had — and the seaview infusion lounge upstairs feels like a friend's beach house, not a medical office. I drive down from Carlsbad every month.

Most consultations are available within two weeks. We block ample time for new patients, so booking ahead is recommended.
Coastal patients accumulate sun differently. A practical look at the patterns we see and how we plan around them.
A coastal life is, dermatologically, a particular kind of life. Higher UV index than most patients assume, reflected light off water, casual outdoor hours that add up faster than indoor patients ever match.
The result is a pattern we see often: photoaging that concentrates around the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, the temples. The forehead lags. The neck arrives late and dramatic.
We plan around this rather than against it. The treatment cadence is steadier through the year than for an inland patient and slightly heavier on barrier support during the spring shift.
